   I would like to peruse the STk manual on-line using emacs. I could
   view the tex files but I would prefer to view latex processed results.
   This way I can view the index.

   Is there a latex style or a dvi2txt filter which can do this

There is a tool called latex2html, which would allow you to read the
manuals in Netscape or a similar browser. latex2html is currently
undergoing a major revision, and is getting much better.

latex2html is written in Perl, using packages such as dbm, netpbm,
latex, etc.
